Family Dispute Resolution - Family Mediation
Your family, your decisions.
Solutions without court.
Your choice.
When families face separation, creating a path forward can feel overwhelming. Under the guidance of an impartial, accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Melbourne Conflict Solutions offers separated families a structured and supportive process to:
Address and resolve key issues around parenting arrangements and property and financial settlements; and
Avoid the need for court involvement, where possible.
-
Cost & Time Effective: Mediation is typically quicker and a lot more affordable than going to court.
Empowered Decision-Making: You keep control over the decision making and can craft solutions that best fit your family’s circumstances.
Stronger Parenting Relationships: Prioritizing your children’s wellbeing by fostering cooperation and constructive co-parenting.
-
Parenting Mediation: We offer you as separated parents a safe and supportive process to come to agreement on the living arrangements for your children as well as any other practical issues of parenting that may be appropriate to your unique family circumstances. Where appropriate, we also offer child-inclusive mediation, allowing children’s views to be respectfully included in the process.
Property and Financial Mediation: We support separated couples in identifying assets and liabilities, exploring options for division and negotiating a property and financial settlement. As part of this process, we offer all our clients a complimentary, 30-minute preparation consultation to help you prepare for your legal and financial advice.
Comprehensive Support: As an integral part of the mediation process, we provide you with resources and connect you with a network of trusted professionals, including lawyers, counsellors, and financial advisors. This collaborative approach ensures you have the necessary guidance and information to make informed decisions about your future.
Flexible Mediation Options: We offer in-person and online appointments to suit your needs, along with after-hours mediation services. Shuttle mediation (in separate rooms, either online or onsite) is offered where appropriate as is lawyer-assisted mediation, where that extra support is needed.
-
Parenting Plan: Where agreements are reached, we will help you write these up in the form of a parenting plan. The plan can be formalized, if needed, in the form of a Consent Order with the help your lawyer.
Heads of Agreement: Where agreements are made in property mediation, we will help you write these up in the form of a heads of agreement, to be formalized by your lawyer as a Consent Order or a Binding Financial Agreement.
Section 60I Certificate (parenting only): Where mediation is assessed as not appropriate or an agreement is not reached, we can issue you with a Section 60I certificate, a necessary requirement (in most cases) to initiate court proceedings in parenting matters.
